JPC Innovation and Technology Competition 2024-25

The members of our school's   STEAM  team, 3B OU PUI YU , 3C CHEN SHIMEI, and 3D CHOI CHI LUNG, won  the  Champion  and  the   Best Safe City Award (Community Safety)   in the   Junior Secondary School Category   at   the JPC Innovation and Technology  Competition 2024-25 organised by the Junior Police Call of the Hong Kong Police Force.

   

The competition aims to encourage primary and secondary school students to utilise their knowledge and skills in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) to construct innovative and feasible "Smart City" solutions.

  

The competition was divided into four categories, namely junior primary school, senior primary school, junior secondary school and senior secondary school. Over 1700 students from nearly 160 schools participated, and over 1 300 submissions were received. 

  

The award-winning project by our stduents is the "Solar-Powered Vegetation Growth Range Detection Device." The project utilizes IoT, artificial intelligence, and solar technology to continuously monitor the growth conditions of green belts in Hong Kong, improving maintenance efficiency and reducing labor costs, thereby minimizing accidents caused by vegetation growth issues.
