Hong Kong Student Science Project Competition 2026 - Design Proposal (First Prize)

Members of our school’s STEAM Team, 3A LIN XINYI and 3C CHEN YUET YUNG, participated in The Hong Kong Student Science Project Competition in April this year.

The competition was organised by The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups, the Education Bureau and the Hong Kong Science Museum.

  

The team developed an innovative project entitled "Hollow Tiles Detector", which combines AI audio recognition with ROS robotic operating system technology. By using a robotic arm to tap tiles and a microphone to collect the sound of the tapping, it identifies hollow sounds, thereby improving the efficiency of old building inspections.

  

The project was awarded a Design Proposal (First Prize) in the competition.
